Nuevo maquillaje: Clinique Anti-Blemish Liquid Makeup

31.3.10
(To read my review in English, click here)
Hola!

1.- Anti-Blemish Solutions Cleansing Foam
2.- Anti-Blemish Solutions Clarifying Lotion
3.- Even Better Serum
4.- Anti-Blemish Solutions Clearing Moisturizer
5.- Redness Solutions Protective Base
6.- Anti-Blemish Solutions Clearing Concealer
7.- Anti-Blemish Solutions Liquid Makeup

Puntuaciones:

Cobertura: 4/5
Duración: 2/5
Gama de tonalidades: 2/5
Acabado: 4/5
Precio: 2/5
Compraré: No
POR CIERTO:
¿No se parece mucho a la Matte Pure de Biotherm?
Ambas prometen ser un complemento más para el tratamiento anti-granitos.
Os haré una comparación de ambas si estais interesadas. :)

Treasure in a Drawer

30.3.10
This was how I kept my makeup organised some time ago. Nowadays, I can say all the stuff is better organised and categorised but I kind of like watching these pictures from the near past. In fact, there is something attractive in all this colourful mess.

Hope you like the photos!

One, two, three, What can you see?

Make up Session at Clinique: Anti-Blemish Liquid Makeup (NEW)

25.3.10
On Tuesday I had the opportunity to attend a makeup session at the local Clinique counter with a friend, totally for free. They have a promotion in Spain at the moment by which you print a voucher in their Spanish website and you enjoy this makeup session. The objective is to try the new foundation they have launched, Anti Blemish, another product which is from now on part of the whole Anti Blemish line.

The idea is attractive: a foundation that contains active ingredients to combat spots and blemishes as a treatment. Of course, totally oil free and allergy tested as everything Clinique.
This is my honest opinion about this promotion and about the products that the Clinique woman tried on us. No one is paying me for writing this review.

First of all, the S.A tested our skin condition. Mine, as I already knew, resulted in acne prone yet sensitive and dry. She used Anti-Blemish Solutions Cleansing Foam to clean my face and afterwards the Anti Blemish Clarifying Lotion. I think both products are too harsh for me; in fact, I prefer the Mild version of both products from Clinique. The day after this makeup session, I found my skin a bit irritated, my cheeks burned a little and they were a bit red. I really think the combination of all the products from the Anti-Blemish Solutions line would definitely be too strong for my skin. They should be used on oily or very oily skins.

Then, she added the serum Even Better, which I am actually using at the moment. Then, she used the Anti Blemish Clearing Moisturizer.
Afterwards, she continued with the Redness Solutions Protective Base. I have been using a sample from this green gel and I must say it is a great product to calm skin and reduce redness. It works as an excellent makeup base too.
As a concealer, she also used the one from the Anti-Blemish line.

Summary of steps:

1.- Anti-Blemish Solutions Cleansing Foam
2.- Anti-Blemish Solutions Clarifying Lotion
3.- Even Better Serum
4.- Anti-Blemish Solutions Clearing Moisturizer
5.- Redness Solutions Protective Base
6.- Anti-Blemish Solutions Clearing Concealer
7.- Anti-Blemish Solutions Liquid Makeup

(Isn't this just too much?)...

Then the time arrived for the new makeup base Anti-Blemish Solutions Liquid Makeup: I must say I love the packaging. It has a very handy and higyenic applicator.

This foundation has a medium to high coverage. It is really blendable and creamy and it covers the pores and blemishes really well. The smell is quite unnoticeable but towards the pleasant side.
My shade choice was 03 (I am NC20 on makeup or so I think). It looked like a perfect match there but then I discovered that it tends to darken with the pass of some hours...

The great disadvantage of this foundation, from my point of view, is that it disappears from my face. At the end of the day I have very few foundation on my face: only patches here and there. And much darker than when I applied it.

Will I repurchase it? Well, I do not think so.
1st: because it is not that good: it dries to a semi matte finish matte, you have no shiny spots and it has not broken my skin out, BUT, it is just ok.
2nd: I think it is drying my skin. The S.A gave us a couple of samples to continue trying it at home and I have noticed my skin is becoming drier after 3 days of using it.

3rd: I think it is just too much to apply a treatment to fight against spots and pimples and also a foundation with the same function. Skin could react producing more oil...

The rest of the makeup session was very simple (everything from the Spring Collection 2010):

I just love the promotional picture! However, the collection disappointed me.

- On my lips: the newly arrived Vitamin C Lip Smoothie in the shade Pink me Up

Another promotional picture that is so cute!

- On my cheeks: the new powder blusher in the shade Fresh Picked.

Will I buy anything from this collection? No, nothing inspires me. Maybe one of the Lip Smoothies since I found them very nourishing and pigmented, and the shades were all wearable.
Have you tried the new Clinique foundation or any other product from the Spring Collection? What are your thoughts on them?
XOXO

Cejas

24.3.10

Perfect Brows

23.3.10

Brows frame our facial expression. Over the different periods of time, there have been many different trending styles for brows.

For example, in the 1930s, women had thin and perfectly trimed brows; in the 60s, thick and dark brows were fashionable, in the 80s, they were thicker and nowadays the tendency is towards neatness.

To my mind, the most important aspect to take in to account with respect to brows is that they should be natural, they should maintain a harmony in the whole of your facial expression. Besides, well-defined brows will help your makeup look more polished and in general, they will brighten up your natural beauty.
Therefore, brows should not be unnaturally over-plucked or bleached. If so, they could lose expresiveness.

My eternal icon in brows is Audrey Hepburn: her brows were always perfect, though maybe on the thick side:

I also love Olivia Wilde's brows (now more in the thin side), especially when she was on the O.C. I think the angular shape is perfect and really frames her beautiful eyes:

Another example of beautiful brows is Kristin Kreuk:

If you are looking for a redesign of your brows the best you can do is go to a specialiced beautician. They will analyse your face structure and they will remove the excess of hair of your brows, giving them a well-balanced shape.

If you prefer to do it at home you should take into account the following considerations:
Follow a pattern:

If you look at this really informative (from here) picture, we can see that A marks the place where your brow should start. B shows the highest peak. Brows should not be thicker as to pass C. And finally D would mark the end.

Glitzy Glam!

9.3.10
You probably know that Elle from AllThatGlitters21 and her sister Blair, Juicystar07 run their own company now. They have started a webstore called Glitzy Glam and they are selling beautiful products. Last week I was feeling whimsical and I ordered a couple of things. I received them today. The shipping was fast and everything was really well wrapped. I am very happy with the things I purchased!

Some of my obsessions apart from cosmetics and makeup are stationery and school supplies.
I love cute stationery products!

In my very first shopping from Glitzy Glam I ordered a 2010 diary/agenda and a pack of 4 pocket folders.

The 2010 Diary/Agenda, called "Time Flies":

Detalied pattern of pink and white flowers:

The pocket folders come in a packet of four, two different patterns, and there are also cute sticker labels:

I love the combination of turqoise, green and pink colours! Detailed pattern:

Do you like them?

Paul really likes it all!!

Take a Bow

7.3.10
I am currently loving bows!! This one is from Claire's. I bought it in purple as well...
P.S I do not like my current hair colour... Appointment at the hairdresser's soon!

¡Cómo me gustan los lazos! Esta diadema es de Claire's. La compré en morado también...
P.D. Necesito pasar por la pelu!!

Won't Repurchase

4.3.10

Following the trend of starting a new month writing about your previous favourite products, I want to write today about those ones which have disappointed me lately. As usual, let me remind you that this is my personal opinion and that maybe they work perfectly for you.

- Haircare:

Herbal Essences Hello Hydration shampoo.

Yes, I know I wrote about this when I purchased it, and I was enchanted by its coconut smell, and now I have seriously changed my mind. Now that I have nearly finished it (I compromised myself not to throw products away, but use them up instead and therefore avoid wasting money and build a thorough opinion), I can say that even though it is really cheap, it is not worthy. It leaves my hair matte, shineless and dry. (although it is indicated for dry hairs and apparently has moisturizing properties). But my hair looks awful after months using it. My new purchase will be a shampoo from ICON, definitely.

- Skincare:

Clinique Redness Solutions Soothing Cleanser.

I am going to criticise this as a makeup remover, since it does not remove makeup properly. It is a product for really sensitive skins, and maybe because of this, it lacks efficiency in removing all the dirt and makeup. However, I am using this as a morning cleanser, and no problem then. But I would never buy it as a makeup remover even though it is advertised as such (and I would never buy it as a morning cleanser either). The texture is a bit sticky and messy. I have not experienced a relevant reduction of redness. On the positive side, it is gentle and does not irritate my skin.

La Roche Posay Effaclar Duo.

People raved about the components of this treatment for acne prone skin but in the end it disappointed me. It did nothing to my blemishes. It is a good night treatment, nothing too harsh, but probably my skin got used to it and after a couple of weeks with a slight improvement, everything went back to normal BUT, with added dryness and lack of hydration to my skin. I had to stop using it for a while and when I got back to it, nothing happened. I ended it up saying "Duh". I am seriously considering buying Peroxiben.

- Makeup

La Roche Posay Unifiance Creme de Poudre Foundation.
Another product from this brand, and this is because the truth is that I really love it! But some products do not work for me. This foundation is so cakey that the finish is really disgusting. Probably because my skin is not oily at the moment, the effect of this is awful. It does not blend well and it seems I put a thick powdery mask on my face. Since the colour match is perfect, I need to find the way to use this and I would probably try mixing it with a moisturizer.

February Favourites

2.3.10
Skincare,

Clinique Mild Clarifying Lotion:

This is my favourite toner since, as its name indicates, it is very gentle to the skin. Its texture is a bit thick, and it seems to moisturise as well as calm my skin. I think this thickness is what I like the most about it. It is not the typical water-like liquid toner: the texture is different. You must shake it well before use, to mix all the components.

I also like it because it contains salicylic acid, which is great to combat black pores and imperfections, and also aloe vera, with calming and regenerating properties.

Makeup,

Biotherm Light foundation:

I am in love, again, with this foundation. I have nothing else to add to my previous review about it, just that I continue loving the radiant yet light finish. Now that I have given up full makeup during the week, it is the perfect foundation for an everyday look.
Hair,

Argan Oil:

A friend of mine gave me a bottle of Argan Oil as a present. I had already read a couple of reviews about the benefits of this Moroccan product. It can be used on hair or on skin, and it is said to be a great treatment for skin diseases. I have not tried it onto my skin yet, but I have on my hair and it is really nutritive and moisturizing.

Another Kind of Beautiful Things:

Music,
Amy Macdonald: Don't Tell Me that it's Over

A Place,

The nearest beach.

Yes, this is me, in one of my favourite places on earth;

A Scent,
The springing Mimosa Trees in front of my house. It is my most favourite smell from all times. It brings me memories from childhood, when I used to go for long walks with my mum, and we cut a small branch to take home and try to make that scent last forever.

A Feeling,
My parents' hugs.
