10 Finished Products, April

29.4.10
I finished ten products lately, here they go!
Feel free to ask for a review on any of them :)
DISCLAIMER:
All products purchased with my own money. No one is paying for my opinion on any of them. This is my honest comment.
Skincare:
  • Endocare (Regenerating Lotion): This is an amazing lotion to slightly reduce scars and also calm skin. The main active ingredient is SCA which is the secretion from sneals... Yuck. Yeap, you read well.
  • Biotherm Source Therapie, Pure Spa Concentrate Skin Perfector. This serum aims to make your skin feel stronger, balanced and more refined. What I loved the most about it is that it leaves my skin really soothed and moisturised. The smell is so delightful as well. Pretty expensive I must say!
  • TBS Teat Tree Oil Face Mask: a clay-based mask which deep cleanses the pores. I bouth this pretty much because I am in love with tea tree oil to combat black pores and pimples and it relly helps lessen this kind of imperfections.
  • Avene Soothing Mask: my favourite mositurising mask of all times... this one leaves skin soft, soothed, beautiful.
Makeup:
  • Biotherm Sense Foundation: an amazing foundation for combo/oily skin. I am actualy in love with Biotherm foundations, I think they are great, This is luminous and it has a decent medium coverage.
  • Clinique Almost Powder makeup in 03 Light ( I already have a backup:): my favourite powder foundation of all times. It is the only one which does not look cakey on me. It totally blends with my skin and leaves it fresh! Great coverage and light shades available.
Cleansers:
  • La Roche Posay Physiological Cleansing Gel: which I will not repurchase since I actually hate milky products to remove makeup. I prefer oil-based ones or balms. I bought this mainly because I was tempted by the "physiological" name and because LRP is one of my all-time favourite brands for makeup.
  • Sephora Biphasic Eye Make-Up Remover: great product to remove makeup from eyes and really economical. I already have a backup for this as well.
Lush:
  • Lush, Mask of Magnaminty: a deep cleansing mask with China clay, Bentonite gel, ground aduki beans, evening primrose seeds, and peppermint oil.
  • Lush Sonic Death Monkey Shower Gel: a choco-mocha and lime flavoured shower gel. I think this is now part of the Retro-Lush selection of products from the website...

-a bowl for the mixture

Dear Monday:

26.4.10
(Picture taken by David, all the credit on him)

"Dear Monday,
I hope you are a great day.

And I hope you are the beginning of a wonderful week and you are ready to let April go.

Here, we can see how you began cloudy and dark but you are being kind and the sun has come to us.
Today, I do not have class. I have to work, though. But, after that, I am planning a trip to the beach. Have a walk and so. Some photography, some day-dreaming...
...
I got up to realize that my blog had reached 30,000 visits, which is awesome and made my day.
...
My makeup today is very simple. Just gone for the concealer and compact powder. Maybe I will not be lazy and I will put some blush on. Not sure.
I start today a serious (and hard) spending ban, to recover from these days purchases.
Let's see how it works."

NYX Blushes

20.4.10

I am absolutely in love with NYX powder blushes. I am in love with the quality and with its price ($3)! I bought them from Cherry Culture, together with some other goodies which I will be reviewing soon.

Angel:

Angel is my absolute favourite of the three. I love the light it gives to my cheeks. It is matte, which I am thankful for, since most of the blushes I own are quite on the shimmery side.

It is a natural, healthy-looking, cold pink.

Peach

I bought this since I "needed" (*LOL*) a peachy blush to add to my collection. It is a beautiful coral blush, matte and very natural.

Taupe:

I am using this for contouring. When I first opened it, I did not like it but on the skin it looks like a perfect contour powder. I think I will be using this really often when I get a tan...

OVERALL:
Cheapy cheapy, very good quality, matte, natural colours and amazing pigmentation.
What Nyx blushes do you own? Which ones would you recommend for a NC20?

XOXO

Nails of the Day: Bella's Choice

19.4.10
I am absolutely in love with this nail polish.

It is called Bella's Choice (how cool is that?) and it is from H&M.

I bought it last week (3,95 €), as I could not resist this beautiful turquoise blue. I think this is going to be the perfect sneak peak before the Chanel Nouvelle Vague. And I can tell you this is going to be MY nail polish this summer.
(Excuse the messy manicure: I did not have the camera the day I painted my nails but two days after. I had to remove nail polish afterwards)

Love it or hate it?

Nothing to add,

International Swapping: Mac Belightful

13.4.10

As you may have read, Nars Oil Free Foundation did not work for me. Consequently, I decided to find a new happy home for it and I entered makeupalley Swapping system and I found a lovely girl from Holland who was interested in swapping it.
I got Mac Belightful Iridiscent Powder, from the Fafi collection.
I am very happy with the swap. I am glad I found another item which I will be using more than the Nars foundation.

The swap worked wonderfully and the shipping was very fast.

MAC BELIGHTFUL:

Pros:

It is a gorgeous natural colour, I wore it very comfortably on my skin, I think it is a perfect all-over colour for a night look.

Cons:

The glitter on it is huge!
Not for an everyday, daylight look...

Packaging:

As you can see, it is a warm, beige colour with golden shimmer:

Heavy swatch:

Properly blended:

How Lucky I Am?

7.4.10
Yay! Some time ago I was so lucky as to win Scarlett Holly's (you should go and check her blog right now!) wonderful giveaway and I received the goodies today! Whoa! This girl is so generous! I must say I love every single thing, I am so grateful for these presents!
Here are the pictures of all the things she sent to me:

Apart from lots of samples, I got:

MAC Shale Pro Pan Eyeshadow

Lush Snow Fairy Shower Gel

Kiehl's Lip Balm

Essie Mink Muffs Nail Polish

NYX Jumbo Lip Pencil in Rose Brown

I am so excited!

Thanks so so much, sweetheart!

The Reasons Why I don't Like Mac Studio Sculpt Foundation

The other day I went to MAC and the make up artist was so kind as to give me a sample of the Mac Studio Sculpt Foundation. She considered that the perfect shade for me would be NC20 as, she said, the yellow undertone of "C" would balance the redness of my skin at the moment.

To start with, I must say I am not convinced at all with the shade choice. As logic as it may seem that I need that yellowish shade to combat redness, the NC20 makes me seem ill.

Nevertheless, this is not a complaint on the (bad) selection of shade, but on the formula and finish of the foundation itself.

I had been lookingo forward to the opportunity of trying Studio Sculpt since the "gelified" texture really appealed to me. I have read reviews praising this foundation for being moisturizing and with a great coverage and consistency. And, to be honest, I also desired to try one of the Mac foundation for the first time.

However, I must declare I am disappointed. The summary for this foundation in my opinion would be three words: cakey, cakey and cakey. And, this, my friend, is not good at all.

The make up artist applied this on me using Mac 131 Duo Fibre Brush. This demonstrated to be a great brush for applying foundation and become a necessary new must have in my wish list.

In a couple of hours, the foundation had mostly run out of my face. It did not cover imperfections and blemishes. It accentuated pores and the powdery finish scared me to the maximum.

I thought I should give it another try and then I used it the following day, at home and with my fingers.

The same happened. Strange coverage, which gave a kind of ill look to my face, nothing beautiful. And in some hours, my face looked dirty. Cakey, cakey, cakey.

Studio Sculpt foundation reminded me of Nars Oil Free Foundation although the Mac one has got more coverage than the Nars one.

Next stop, I want to try the infamous Studio Fix Fluid.

What are your opinions on Studio Sculpt?

Llega a España Mac Give Me Liberty of London

6.4.10

- 2 Beauty Powder: Shell Pearl y Summer Rose

- 5 tonos de sombras: Give Me Liberty of London, Free to Be, Dame's Desire, Birds & Berries y Bough Grey.

- 4 Lipsticks: Ever Hip, Peachstock, Petals & Peacocks y Blooming Lovely.

- 4 Lipglass: Frankly Fresh, Perennial High Style, English Accents y A Different Grove.

- 2 coloretes: Dirty Plum y Prim & Proper.
